In 1997 I graduated from Blaine! beauty school. At my first salon, The Cut Above in Carver,Ma. I shadowed the owner learning backcombing and roller sets and how to make them last a good week. Which was a great skill to create gorgeous prom and wedding styles that would stay overnight! I learned different highlighting and cutting techniques and utilized those skills to design fashionable looks for my clientele of stylish women looking for something new in the hair world.

In 2000 I went to my first Beauty trade show. The new trends and products, the platform artists, the music! It inspired me to try all the new colors and cuts that were changing in the new millennium! Queue The Stacked Bob. I perfected that cut and customized it in different colors, with dimensional highlights, some with extensions for a dramatic look.

In 2002 I joined Spa Visage in Norwell, Ma. It wasn’t long before my books were full of fun new ladies to perfect my skills. As the beauty world changed I went to color classes with Matrix, Goldwell , and Redken. Cutting and Updo styling classes with Aquage. I always enjoyed seeing what was next in upcoming trends. I have always loved fashion. I knew I’d design ,whether it was going to be clothes or hair!

I started as a booth renter in 2007 and became an independent stylist! I worked at several salons along route 53 in Norwell for the next 17 years.

Working with different seasoned stylists, I learned about smoothing treatments,( Inca Glow being my current favorite) high-low coloring techniques(Wella has a fabulous line of color touch Demi permanent colors), and trending blonde services.

In November of 2021 I took the Bellami extension class and became a Certified Bellami Extensionist. I was already a certified Babe tape in extensionst, but I learned a few trade secrets that you only find out in the class. I also learned I-Tip , hand tied weft, and my favorite K-Tip.

Until I decided working closer to home was a step I needed to make in my life. There I began my next chapter at Image Studios in Plymouth,Ma. and Erica Pearl Atelier was born!
